Default Rangelands Australia to cease operation 30.6

UQ has deemed the Rangeland Australia initiative as unviable with current student numbers at an all time low. It is set to close at the end of May which is a sad end to an organisation which provided a great service in coordinating and delivering the excellent courses we have studied over the years. Where does this leave current students and those who hoped to continue their studies over time? I have found the RA course delivery, both externally and remote intensive, an excellent avenue to share experiences and to learn form others undertaking the courses. It will be missed. The fact that there has been no mention of this planned closure in any rural media is a pretty sad end to such a great initiative of John Taylor and his support staff over the years. He and Rangeland Australia deserve better - at least some recognition that this course allowed remote and regional students from all over Australia, and the world, an opportunity to undertake post graduate study - to grow and learn.
